It’s the time of year - many of us have made New Year’s resolutions, and some of us have already broken them!
Just before Christmas we held one of our regular HR Forum meetings, which was a Practical Coaching Session. In the session we asked delegates to write down a New Year’s Resolution or Key Objective for 2019. Responses varied from “being happier” to “being more organised” and in one case achieving a specific financial target for their business.
Most experts agree that it helps to write down objectives, and in the session, participants thought about what would help them to achieve their overall target and drew a “mind-map” as a way of illustrating their challenge and as constant reminder and motivator throughout the year ahead. What is the one thing you would want to commit to as a New Year’s Resolution or Business Objective for 2019?
Having a clear sense of what we want to achieve both in life personally and at work, is I believe, essential if we are to measure progress in the year ahead.
